Guilderland Boys Tennis

On Friday, June 6, Guilderland’s Rajeev Rai and Bethlehem’s Ian Jin battled against 30 of the top New York State tennis players in the boys’ individual state tournament at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing, New York.

On Tuesday, April 29, the Guilderland boys’ tennis team took to its home courts as the team took on Columbia. The Dutch dominated in their 8-to-1 win.

On Saturday, May 11, the sixth-seeded Guilderland boys’ tennis team traveled to the third-seeded Saratoga in the Section 2, Class AA quarterfinals. The Dutch battled but fell to the Blue Streaks, 9 to 0.

On Friday, April 5, the Guilderland boys’ tennis team kicked off its season against the Blue Bison of Shaker at Shaker High School on a cold and windy afternoon. The Dutch fell, 5 to 4.

On Friday, May 12, the Guilderland boys’ tennis team kicked off its sectional play at home in a first-round matchup against Colonie. Guilderland won, 7 to 2, against Colonie but fell 8 to 1 to top-seeded Bethlehem.

On Monday afternoon, Apr. 3, the Guilderland boys’ tennis team traveled to Bethlehem High School to take on the Eagles in their first regular-season matchup of the spring tennis season. The Dutch fell 9 to 0.

On Monday, May 23, Guilderland’s Mahen Bitkuri competed in the Section 2 individual championships at Central Park tennis courts in the finals. Bitkuri fell in straight sets; 0-6, 3-6, to Albany Academy’s Krishnadev Jammula but Bitkuri has qualified to June 2-4 NYSPHSAA state championships.

The Guilderland boys’ tennis team took to their home court to take on Christian Brothers Academy on April 22. Guilderland had an easy time and won 9-0.

On Thursday, June 3rd, the Guilderland Dutchmen boys tennis team battled Shenendehowa at home in the regular season finale to determine position for the upcoming team sectional championships. The Dutch lost 9-0 then battled Shaker in sectionals and fell 6-3.

The Guilderland boys’ tennis team smashed home a huge 6-to-3 win against Shenendehowa on Tuesday afternoon, the Dutchmen’s second game of the season.
