COBLESKILL —  Robert S. Dearstyne of Cobleskill, a Navy veteran who enjoyed the outdoors, died on Saturday, July 7, 2016, at his home.

“Bob will be greatly missed by all,” his family wrote in a tribute.

He was the son of the late Stanley and Evelyn Dearstyne of Berne.

GUILDERLAND — Author and town resident Bruce W. Dearstyne has received a national award for his 2015 book on New York history, “The Spirit of New York: Defining Events in the Empire State’s History.”
