Anita J. Behn

GUILDERLAND — Anita J. Behn, a lifelong learner who worked for a decade as administrator of the state museum, died peacefully at her McKownville home on Monday, Aug. 7, 2023. She was 85.
Born in Batavia, New York, she was the daughter of the late Abraham and Rose (née Barsuk) Davidovitz.

CM Fox Living Solutions LLC first proposed a 10-home development in September of last year.

On Sunday, July 30, the Albany Dutchmen traveled to Saugerties to compete in the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League east quarterfinals against the Saugerties Stallions. The Dutchmen tried to make a late inning rally but fell, 5 to 3.

On Saturday, July 29, 157 runners took to the streets of Altamont for the last race in the Hilltown Triple Crown race series.

Prudence ‘Prudy’ Clemishire Ciaccio

ALTAMONT — An accomplished teacher and community contributor, Prudence “Prudy” Clemishire Ciaccio’s greatest love was for her family.

She died peacefully on Sunday, July 23, 2023. She was 98 years old.

On July 19, Christopher Beckmann requested that the Guilderland Zoning Board of Appeals grant him a variance from the town code requiring installation of a fire sprinkler system in his proposed business and for a public hearing on his special-use application.

John Wemple said he got to see most of the town over the last 20 years. “And it’s a beautiful town. And we’ve got a real good board, which will keep it beautiful.”

In its Article 7 petition, filed July 24, Crossgates requested that an Albany County court lower its Guilderland assessment from $234.2 million to $102 million.

Last Thursday, July 20, the Albany Dutchmen hosted a double header matchup against Amsterdam Mohawks, the top team in the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League, at home at Keenholts Park in Guilderland Center. The Dutchmen lost the first game, 9 to 5, then won the second, 4 to 0.
