ALTAMONT — Residents of Altamont Boulevard want their road repaved to reduce window-shattering vibrations from passing traffic, and the state plans to do so this spring.

Boulevard residents shaken by pothole-riddled road

ALTAMONT — Residents of Altamont Boulevard want their road repaved to reduce window-shattering vibrations from passing traffic, and the state plans to do so this spring.


GUILDERLAND — Three men walked into a Stuyvesant Plaza jewelry store last week, displayed a gun, tied up two employees, and stole some watches.


ALTAMONT — “Prom is a big deal,” says Rhonda Flansburg, the owner of Re-Nue Spa in the village. “It’s a time for kids to get dressed up, to feel glamorous and important for one day. Everyone wants that.”


GUILDERLAND — A Guilderland teenager was shot in Arbor Hill on Monday night, according to Albany City Police.

DuShawn Sims, 16, of Old State Road, was shot in the leg at the corner of Lark and Orange Streets, around 8:45 p.m.


GUILDERLAND — The Best Western Sovereign Inn in Guilderland — plagued with Legionella bacteria for the past two months — last week installed a new hot-water tank to try to eliminate the problem.

Albany County will test the water again on March 14, said Mary Rozak, spokeswoman for the county.
