GUILDERLAND — The owners of Robinson’s Ace Hardware have opened a new equipment rental shop right next to their original store on Western Avenue near Witte Road.

GUILDERLAND — A site owned by the Northeastern Industrial Park off of Depot Road has become a site for work on the proposed and controversial Constitution Pipeline.

Construction of a huge orange silo prompted neighbors and passers-by to wonder what was going on; workers at the site responded that they were not allowed to say.

ALTAMONT — The arrest of a village resident for stealing 200 pounds of meat from the Altamont fairgrounds is pending results of a fingerprint comparison, Altamont Police said this week.

ALTAMONT — Village Trustee Cathy Glass, who joined the Altamont board this spring, has resigned due to unforeseen health issues within her family, Glass told The Enterprise.

ALTAMONT — Steven Francis Harrington, a United States Air Force Veteran, died unexpectedly on Sunday, Oct. 18, 2015. He was 74.

Mr. Harrington was born in Fort Edward, the son of the late Renard and Dorothy (née Cadarr) Harrington. He lived in Fort Edward until he enlisted in the Air Force.

The preserve, located at the corner of Westfall and Bozenkill roads, has two walking trails and is open to the public from dawn till dusk.

Smokey the Bear's warm and shiny brown fur was smothered with children who came to learn about fire safety at the Pine Bush Discovery Center, where controlled burns are a regular practice.

    

It was to be an ordinary flight from Baltimore to Albany, the final leg home from a business trip to Atlanta. He hadn’t planned to save anybody that day. 

For 38 years, the school board has recognized its best employees, nominated by peers and selected by committee. More than 400 have been honored over the years. Five more joined the ranks last Tuesday in a televised ceremony.
