We see Frank Pezze as a beacon of hope, a light to guide us in a time of dark loneliness.

The council will walk the property on Saturday and a report will be prepared for the town planning board to examine at a later date. 

Rather than waiting another 15 or 20 years for the next fee hikes, town board members said that, going forward, they’d like to make incremental yearly increases.

On Tuesday, Dec. 13, the Guilderland gymnastics team showed off their skills and grace as they had their first dual meet of the season against Bethlehem at Bethlehem High School. Guilderland fell short 153.80 to 106.85.

The Guilderland girls’ wrestling team, a new team in Section 2, competed in the second annual Coxsackie-Athens girls wrestling tournament at Coxsackie-Athens High School where all 20 teams were composed of just female wrestlers.

On Friday night, Dec. 9, the Guilderland Dutchmen boys’ basketball team held their home opener for the winter season against Colonie Raiders. The tenacity of the Raider defense held the Dutch offense at bay all game long. Dutch fell 50-22.

Amanda Beedle started working out of her basement at home and expanded to her garage. After her husband refused to mow the lawn because he couldn’t get to the mower in the jam-packed garage, Beedle knew she needed a venue outside her home. Last week, the ribbon was cut, officially opening The Caring Closet. 

Through all these years, since soon after he graduated from Guilderland High School in 1970, Frank Pezze has organized a basketball league for adults. The men recently celebrated their golden anniversary — the celebration was delayed by two years because of the pandemic.

“Accepting is not the same thing as approving,” explained Guilderland Supervisor Peter Barber.
