Eight vie for three board seats

BETHLEHEM — Eight candidates are vying for three seats on Bethlehem’s seven-member school board in a race not unusually crowded for the largely suburban district.

GUILDERLAND — , who is seeking a second term on the board, says she has learned much in her first three years and enjoyed it.

is making his first run for the school board because “the district needs to do better,” he says.

GUILDERLAND — said the main reason he is running for the school board is because he “would like to give back to the community.”

GUILDERLAND — Faced with a difficult diagnosis, the Siggia siblings have not only coped well but have prevailed.

is running for her second term on the school board because, she said, “I think I can make a difference.”

, who spends a lot of time with kids and their parents in her practice as a pediatrician, could bring their voice to the school board, she said. 

GUILDERLAND — “I want to work for this community,” said . “I’ve learned a great deal in two years on the board. I want to put it into action.”

Genzano has been on the school board for two years because of two separate appointments.
