wastewater treatment

An overflow from a sewage pump in Berne last summer was a “saturation” of water used for cleaning, rather than a sewage spill, said the town’s supervisor, Sean Lyons. Last June, Lyons had commended the town board because it had not “escalated into an Enterprise event and TBM [town board meeting] disruption.”

The supervisor, in an email to the town board, commended the work done on repairing a grinder pump at a residence in Berne’s sewer district, though it appears no outside agencies were contacted when the pump overflowed.

Altamont will apply for $75,000 in grant funds provided through the state's Environmental Facilities Corporation's Green Innovation Grant Program.
