Frank L. Smith is known locally as the founder of a popular tavern in Voorheesville, but, when he was in the Army, his unit traveled near Chateau Thierry, France.

The annual Friends of the Library Fall Book Sale will be Sept. 18 through 20.  The sale on Friday Sept. 18 beginning at 5 p.m., is for members only.

Voters also passed a $22.8 million Voorheesville school budget and a $1.1 million library budget.

The Voorheesville Public Library has two openings on its board of trustees as it begins to redesign its programs and services.

The Voorheesville Public Library has proposed a budget that is almost $13,000 less than the previous year, while continuing to invest in new materials and building improvements.

Voorheesville's library, and high school were vandalized Jan. 13. The next day, a recent graduate and current senior were arrested.
