ACCESS Hilltowns will soon house a caseworker who will be able to support residents who have been victimized by a crime. 

In Berne, the Albany County executive announced that the town’s senior center would become a weekly satellite office for various county services. Meanwhile the county sheriff’s office is one step closer to obtaining the Clarksville Elementary School building, which the sheriff has had the same vision for.

ALBANY COUNTY — Like counties across the state, the Bethlehem Central School District is also quickly approaching a deadline.

Albany County Sheriff Craig Apple says he doesn’t need taxpayers’ money to buy the Clarksville school; he can use asset forfeiture funds.

Albany County Sheriff Craig Apple has a vision of bringing support services closer to the rural Hilltowns, housing them in the former Clarksville Elementary School at the base of the Helderbergs.
