The BKW girls' soccer team turned an 0-5 start into a 6-7-2 season as it hopes to win a sectional game on Friday.

Guilderland is the defending Class AA soccer champion, and after a successful regular season, the team is looking to repeat.

Again, the Berne-Knox soccer team pitched a shutout, but it took two overtimes to score a goal to advance in the Class C playoffs.

Soccer sectionals have started, and Voorheesville had an excellent win over Cohoes as the team will face Ichabod Crane, again.

No other soccer team in Section 2 has allowed fewer goals — three — than the Berne-Knox-Westero Bulldogs. The team is comfortably in first place.

Homecoming was a cause for celebration for current players as well as spectators who had graduated long ago as Voorheesville soccer teams swept to victories.

Looking for a huge victory on the road, the Guilderland soccer team just became another shutout victim for Shenendehowa on Tuesday. Still, the Dutch are comfortably in first place (8-2-1) in the Suburban Council South.

Defending soccer champs Berne-Knox-Westerlo may have a new coach, but the team's philosophy remains intact.
