After a judge threw out a rape case being prosecuted by the Justice Center for the Protection of People with Special Needs, the lawyer defending Justin Hope of Guilderland against sexual abuse charges hopes to see his client’s case — also being prosecuted by the Justice Center — dismissed as well.
ALBANY — Bail was set at $20,000 Friday morning for Justin Hope, the Guilderland man charged with bringing to his apartment and sexually abusing a resident of Vanderheyden Hall in Rensselaer County, where he had worked.
The man accused of sexually abusing a Vanderheyden Hall resident, who had a disability and who was in his care, received a college scholarship awarded to those with “a reputation for honesty, integrity and community service.”
