Rensselaerville resident Diana Hinchcliff was named president of the Retired Public Employees Association

Egeziaca Rufa of Westerlo

WESTERLO — Egeziaca Rufa was born on Nov. 20, 1913 — before the start of World War I, before automobiles were common, before most homes had indoor plumbing.

She was born in Italy and lived her young life on the outskirts of Rome. In 1941, she moved with her family to the United States.

Local artist Simona Bortis-Schultz leans on art in her ever-changing world. 

Renowned photojournalist Earl Dotter recently took pictures of refugees at a job-training session in Albany.  Dotter is known for his photos of people in hazardous jobs and environments.
