New Scotland Town Court

Town Justice Margaret Adkins has served New Scotland for over 12 years. But now, with the pressures of being an educator increasing, she has announced her resignation in November. Looking back, Adkins says she can take much away from those on both sides of the bench.

During a hearing last Tuesday, he received a hardship exemption for 40 days to drive to work as a construction worker in Troy.

A transfer request was made because both judges in Berne recused themselves to avoid the appearance of impropriety and to "insure the appearance of fairness" in Marcia Pangburn's case, in which she is charged with resisting arrest and obstructing governmental administration.
