A first-in-the-nation program to provide no-cost or lower-cost naloxone at pharmacies across New York began on Aug. 9, according to a release from the governor’s office.
The Voorheesville Board of Education approved a provision to allow the school nurse to administer the drug Naloxone, also known by its brand name Narcan, to students and staff. Naloxone prevents death from an opioid overdose.
