Rare GOP victories Tuesday include Guilderland's Mark Grimm taking District 29 and Knox's Travis Stevens holding the 31st.

Republican Party Chairman Tim Stanton will face Democratic incumbent L. Michael Mackey in District 38, and Andrew Holland will take on the Democratic Primary winner of the race between incumbent Herbert Reilly and his challenger, William Reinhardt, in District 33.

County legislator L. Michael Mackey said this week that Kinder Morgan attorneys he spoke with “agreed with me this may well result in less blasting, and the use of other technology when the pipeline comes through."

The New Scotland Democratic Party committee is backing a member of the Independence Party, Douglas LaGrange. Republicans also plan to put up a candidate for the supervisor's race this fall.
