GUILDERLAND — As the community rallies to raise funds for the seven extended family members who lost their McKownville home to fire last week, five of the six who were injured in the fire are improving.

“First and foremost, this is a public-safety issue,” said Senator George Amedore at the press conference. “It’s also a quality of life issue.”

In a release, the State University of New York Polytechnic Institute argued the area of McKownville has already been infiltrated by non-residential uses, but its authors did not respond to calls or emails.

GUILDERLAND — The McKownville Fire District will be changing its July meeting time from July 1 to June 29 at 6 p.m. in order to accommodate business that needs to be done in a timely manner, according to the commissioner’s secretary, Lori Becker.

GUILDERLAND — The McKownville Fire District Board of Fire Commissioners will conduct a special meeting at Delaware Engineering, 28 Madison Avenue Extension, Albany, NY 12203 on Wednesday, May 27, at 6 p.m. to discuss plans for upcoming renovations on the firehouse.
