A lawsuit from Altamont against Knox, challenging the assessment, is expected to go to court soon.

A week before the Guilderland school board election, one candidate faces a lawsuit.

While Knox last month decided not to invest in an appraisal of its Altamont reservoir property, the village board on Tuesday committed to spending $11,000 for an appraisal to prove in court that the property should not be valued, or taxed, as a reservoir since it is no longer used for that purpose.

On Friday, Judge Gerald Connolly  in Albany’s State Supreme Court denied a motion by the county and the sheriff to dismiss the Article 78 petition  by Scenic Rensselaerville, the citizens’ group that court papers describe as having 170 members, many of them artists.

Kristen Reynders said her towing business continues to operate with its trucks parked at various locations, since she pleaded guilty to violating the zoning law in Knox.

The Guilderland school district will get a check as part of settlement money for several states paid by a Long Island tech company for double billing for software maintenance.
