Democratic Assemblyman Angelo Santabarbara will continue to represent the 111th Assembly District for a fourth term after winning 53 percent of the vote on Tuesday.

ALBANY COUNTY — Democratic incumbent Assemblywoman Patricia A. Fahy bested her two rivals by a wide margin on Tuesday.

The blue wave that gave Democrats control of the State Senate did not lift all boats.

Republican George Amedore won a third term representing the 46th Senate District. He bested his Democratic opponent, Pat Courtney Strong, a newcomer to politics, with 55 percent of the vote.

In Guilderland, three candidates are seeking to replace former town justice Richard Sherwood, who is awaiting sentencing in federal and county court on charges stemming from his theft of millions from family trusts he oversaw in his work as a private attorney.

Muriel Frasher and Ronald Bates are the only town candidates on the ballot in Rensselaerville this November — an off year for town elections.
