A computer virus that locks down data and demands ransom payment infected a Rensselaer County library.

The virus hit the Stephentown Memorial Library, which is part of the Upper Hudson Library System. That system also includes libraries in Guilderland, Voorheesville, and Altamont.

This month, the State Education Department announced an additional $14.5 million in funds through the federal Race to the Top grant in support of the Smart Schools Bond Act.

The Bisnett brothers once ran separate businesses, but now they are joining forces to open an information technology store on Voorheesville's Main Street.
