Faced with two controversial planning issues this year that brought crowds to village board meetings, Voorheesville now has a 14-member committee that is working on a comprehensive land-use plan, which the village board hopes will be completed within a year.

A mix of town, planning, and zoning board members looked into proposed revisions for the town’s hamlet zoning law.

A zoning review committee that  submitted its report last month put the town's new comprehensive plan to use in a major way for the first time.

Proposals were presented for planning at Voorheesville's "triangle" of Grove Street, Main Street, and Voorheesville Avenue, but a draft master plan won't be submitted until closer to the end of April.
