The state comptroller told town officials that Guilderland should always verify the golf course’s calculations of driving-range fees earned.

This was a marked contrast to the state comptroller’s audit conducted three years ago, which found  that layers of accounting practices spread over several years had generated inaccurate financial records and overstated tax revenues.

Voorheesville Central School District released findings last Thursday of 38 water outlets testing above the minimum level of lead out of the 125 sinks and water fountains in the middle school and high school.

GUILDERLAND — Two town golf-course employees resigned and their supervisor was demoted, in the wake of a state comptroller’s audit of town of Guilderland employee compensation and benefits. The comptroller’s report, issued this month, covered the period from Jan. 1, 2014 to Jan. 31, 2015.

VOORHEESVILLE — The state comptroller’s office, in an audit released this week, found no problems with the way the village processes claims.

BERNE — The town’s process of spending money got an approving look from the state comptroller’s office this month.

Guilderland has about 120 special-needs students eligible for Medicaid reimbursement but only half signed up so the district could get reimbursed for services.

Town officials have been aware of a deficit in the water district fund for years, but continued with its budgeting practices into 2014, the audit report found, and the town's court did not conduct several basic, documented accounting practices.

The year started with a financial audit that gave a poor picture of the town's records, but its summer was spent with a cordial picnic and stream-bank repair that brought volunteers together.
