ALTAMONT — The Altamont Fair will be celebrating 125 years since it was founded to feature livestock competitions and horse races.

The 123rd Altamont Fair is set to bring together events both old and new, as well as people from around the region.

Teams of Belgian draft horses, owned by Kurt Johnson of Knox, will pull around the grounds some of the big wagons owned by the fair that have not been taken out in years.

The newest manager of the Altamont Fair, Amy Anderson, had a direct part in its tradition at an early age, crowned Miss Altamont Fair in 1985, when she was 17.
