Alice Begley

For more than two decades, Alice Begley has been informing Guilderland residents about their history. At the end of this week, she’ll be stepping down as Guilderland’s town historian.

Guilderland Town Historian Alice Begley signs at The Book House on June 11.

The newest building is the pool house at Tawasentha Park, which is scheduled for completion in mid-June. The final bid estimate for the construction of the building — which will include locker rooms and a concession stand — is $777,800, or three-quarters of a million dollars.

Crounse

When Doctor Frederick Crounse's old barn was still up, curious people stopped by to visit it a lot!

The current caretakers of the Federal home built by John Veeder feel they belong at Rose Hill and have invested themselves in its upkeep.

Just as John L. Schoolcraft's 19th-Century mansion is being restored, piece by piece, town historian Alice Begley has assembled the story of his life.
