Jane E. Herzog-Mangini

BERNE — Jane E. Herzog-Mangini, a native of Berne, died on Friday, June 17, 2016, in Summerfield, Florida.

She was born on Oct. 30, 1929 in Berne to Stephen and Esther (née Wright) Komjathy.

Mrs. Herzog-Mangini worked for Helen’s Supermarket in East Berne, the Berne-Knox-Westerlo schools, the New York State Department of Transportation, and as an assistant purchasing agent for the New York State Office of Mental Health.

She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Berne and Hope Lutheran Church in The Villages, Florida.

In the late 1980s, Mrs. Herzog-Mangini and her late husband, William Herzog, moved to Florida. They spent many years enjoying retirement. Spring to fall they spent in New York State, on Camp Woodstock in Berne. Most of all they looked forward to their Christmas visits to New York State to spend the holidays with family.

“Mrs. Herzog-Mangini was a dedicated and loving mom to all seven of her children and enjoyed special times with grandchildren and great-grandchildren,” her family wrote in a tribute.

She enjoyed her crossword puzzles; making leather purses, belts, and wallets; sewing; knitting; baking cakes for special occasions; shopping; making jewelry; and meeting friends for lunch.
