Learn about ‘life’s necessaries’ in the 1700s

NEW SCOTLAND — What was everyday life like in the 18th Century?  How did people take care of their most basic needs?  Before there was hot and cold running water, flush toilets and all the amenities of today, how did individuals cope with cleanliness and sanitation?

A staff member from Schuyler Mansion State Historic Site will present a program entitled “Coping with Life’s Necessaries: Cleanliness and Sanitation in the 18th Century” on Wednesday, Sept. 7, at 7 p.m. at the Clarksville Community Church at 1997 Delaware Turnpike in Clarksville.

The program is open to the public; please join us for the evening. Refreshments will be served following the program.  For more information, call 768-2870.

Editor’s note: Marilyn Miles is on the program committee for the Clarksville Historical Society.
