Arlington ‘Link’ Lee

BERNE — Arlington "Link" Lee was a family man and a Ford man. A tireless worker, he enjoyed darts and diners. He died unexpectedly at his Berne home in the early hours of Tuesday, June 14, 2016. He was 83.

He was born on July 21, 1932, son of the late Mae Ingraham and Oscar Lee.

He leaves behind his loving wife, Dorothy (née Lawyer) Lee. Wed in Round Lake, New York, the couple celebrated 62 years of marriage.

Mr. Lee retired from the Albany County Highway Department in Berne in 1992 after 38 years of service. He started at the county as a laborer and worked his way up to become a foreman. “Even after his retirement, he worked tirelessly at home; he was never at ease without a task or purpose to keep himself occupied outside,” his family wrote in a tribute.

Mr. Lee enjoyed playing in a dart league at the old Statler House among other places. He also liked dining at Denny’s and the Western Diner. He was a "Ford Man" and enjoyed his motorcycles and snowmobiles, but nothing made him as happy as the time he spent with those he loved.

“Arlington was a loving and devoted husband and father, and he held a special place in his heart for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren,” his family wrote.

“Link's wonderful smile, his dry and witty humor, and his mannerisms that were sure to make people laugh will all be greatly missed.”
