Grads

These local students have recently earned diplomas:

— Ellis Morgan of Delmar earned a bachelor of science degree in Health Management and Policy from the University of New Hampshire;

— Kelsey Chase of Slingerlands earned a bachelor of science degree in Health Management and Policy from the University of New Hampshire;

— Nicholas Parente of Slingerlands earned a bachelor of science degree in Business Administration from the University of New Hampshire;

— Elizabeth Childs of Voorheesville from Wilkes University in Pennsylvania;

— Rachel Glock of Altamont was awarded a doctor of pharmacy degree from the West Virginia University School of Pharmacy.

Glock is the daughter of Robert Glock and Shelly Glock. She is a graduate of Guilderland High School.

While studying at the WVU School of Pharmacy, Glock was a member of the WVU chapter of the American Pharmacists Association-Academy of Student Pharmacists; the WVU chapter of the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy; the Alpha Mu chapter of the Rho Chi academic pharmacy honor society; and the WVU chapter of the National Community Pharmacists Association, for which she served as historian. She was the recipient of the Rite Aid/James K Harman Memorial Scholarship. She also achieved dean’s list honors. The dean’s list recognizes those who achieve a grade-point average of 2.5 or higher.

Glock graduated cum laude and will be employed in community pharmacy practice in Westchester County, New York;

— Caitlin A. Gurney of Altamont graduated from St. Lawrence University in Canton. She received a bachelor of arts degree and majored in  philosophy. Gurney graduated from Duanesburg Central Schools;

— Michaela L. Maybee of Slingerlands graduated from St. Lawrence University in Canton. She received a bachelor of arts degree and majored in economics and business in the liberal arts. Maybee graduated from Guilderland High School;

— Morgan A. O’Hare of Slingerlands graduated from St. lawrence University in Canton. She received a bachelor of science degree cum laude and majored in biology. O’Hare graduated from the Academy of the Holy Names;

— Kimberly K. Weinberg of Schenectady graduated from St. Lawrence University in Canton. She received a bachelor of arts degree magna cum laude and majored in sociology. Weinberg graduated from Guilderland High School;

— Jake A. Abbuhl of Slingerlands, graduated from Colby College in Maine, receiving a bachelor of arts degree.

Abbuhl, who majored in biology, attended Bethlehem Central High School and is the son of John and Dawn Abbuhl of Slingerlands;

— Colin Rebord of Delmar, at Champlain College in Vermont;

— Evan Treadgold of Altamont, at Champlain College in Vermont;

— Anna Campanella of Voorheesville, graduated cum laude with a bachelor of science degree in biology from the State University of New York at Potsdam;

— Jacqueline Cunningham of Voorheesville, graduated cum laude with a bachelor of arts degree in early childhood education from the State University of New York at Potsdam;

— Salvatore Genovesi of Altamont, graduated with a bachelor of music degree in music education from the State University of New York at Potsdam;

— Brian Reed of Slingerlands, graduated with a master of education degree in mechanical engineering from Lehigh University in Pennsylvania;
