Voorheesville dog and business owner: Barbara Bennett stands outside her newly opened grooming service with her companion, Ali, a cocker spaniel.

VOORHEESVILLE — Barbara Bennet’s Main Street business is new but she’s an experienced hand at grooming dogs.

Bennett has been in the business for 30 years and though her Foxwood Small Dog Grooming shop might be new in town, she successfully operated a similar business in Williamsburg Va. for the last 15 years.

A New York State native, Bennett left a clientele of customers in Virginia to move back to the area and be closer to family. Right next door, her sister, Cindy Crounse, has operated her own village business, Refined Designs, for the last 17 years.

Foxwood Small Dog Grooming offers full-service grooming, such as bathing and cutting, for dogs that weigh less than 25 pounds. Services are by appointment, and the 36 South Main Street business is open Tuesday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
