NEW SCOTLAND — Jean Ozard Beals, a longtime first-grade teacher in Voorheesville, died on Saturday, Nov. 7, 2015, at her home in Beverwyck. She was 100.

She was born in Zanesville, Ohio, daughter of the late Orla R. and Blanche Boyer Rambo.

She and her first husband, Bill Ozard, moved to New Scotland in l952.  She taught first grade in Voorheesville for 20 years.

She is survived by her children, Janet Root and her husband, Ken, Lynne Burke and her husband, Vin, and John Ozard and his partner, Susan Wolfe; five grandsons; and two great-grandsons.

Her sister, Helen, died before her, as did her first husband, Bill Ozard, and her second husband Don Beals.  

Her family thanks her wonderful caregivers, Daniela Filmer, Hilary Snare, Jessica Casteneda, Angelica Lanzot, Holly Nash, and June Hopkins.

A memorial service was held on Saturday, Nov. 14, at the New Scotland Presbyterian Church with arrangements by Reilly and Son Funeral Home.
