Enjoy leaves of books and leaves off trees on Storywalk
Take a family walk and enjoy a nature story at the same time! The Friends of the Town of Berne Library invite you to enjoy a beautiful children’s picture book while walking in the picturesque Knox Town Park.
Each page of the book, “In a Nutshell,” by Joseph Anthony and Cris Arbo, has been laminated and set on wood posts along a one-half mile path through the Knox Town Park. Enjoy this lovely nature story with interactive questions added, with your family.
View the vistas of the park and get some good healthy exercise at the same time. The picture book will be changed periodically throughout the year.
The children from the 4 year-old-class from the Knox Nursery School were our first official “storywalkers.”
The Friends thank the Knox Town Board for permission to use the Knox Town Park as the setting for The StoryWalk Project, which was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, Vermont and developed in collaboration with the Vermont Bicycle & Pedestrian Coalition and the Kellogg Hubbard Library. The Friends also thank the Rudy Stempel Family Sawmill, Lowe’s, and The Little Book House, our corporate sponsors.
Editor’s note: Donna Gwin is the president of the Friends of the Berne Library.
