GUILDERLAND — Chat Speech opened on Jan. 16 at 1807 Western Ave.

The center has a team of speech-language pathologists specializing in orofacial myofunctional therapy, which trains mouth and face muscles to move and rest as they should.

The team at Chat Speech works with dentists, orthodontists, physical therapists, lactation consultants, chiropractors, and a massage/craniosacral therapist — many of whom attended the opening event.

“Airway and sleep health are foundational to overall wellness,” said Kate Chatigny, founder of Chat Speech, in a release announcing its opening. “By collaborating across disciplines, we can better identify underlying contributors to issues like sleep-disordered breathing, feeding difficulties, pain, and dysfunction and create more effective, individualized treatment plans.”

The release said that the professionals who attended the event “are pioneers in their respective fields and united by a shared mission: advancing holistic, collaborative care for airway and sleep health …. Their collective expertise allows for a more complete understanding of how breathing, oral function, posture, movement, and nervous system regulation intersect to impact health across the lifespan.”
