William J. Casey
William “Bill” J. Casey of Rotterdam loved playing and coaching baseball and cheering on the Minnesota Twins.
He died at Albany Medical Center under Comfort Care on Monday, Dec. 1, 2025, after battling cancer. He was 65 years old.
He was born on Aug. 5th, 1960, in Faribault, Minnesota, then moved to Lawndale, California shortly thereafter.
“Bill loved being outdoors, especially riding his bike and playing baseball. He was a fast shortstop and coached several teams to championships.
“After moving back to Minnesota, he cheered on the Twins with our neighbor, Lois Paulson. In 1990, the family moved to the Albany area where he enjoyed living in Berne.
“He was a big fan of the Buffalo Bills and followed them faithfully. Bill also enjoyed his rock bands, especially AC/DC and Def Leppard. You could usually find him playing air guitar and singing.
“Bill proudly earned his GED in 1994. He was last employed by Newkirk Products and Mailworks where he was a machine operator. He liked working and made many friends over those years.”

There will be a Celebration of Life in the spring of 2026.
“Our family would like to express heartfelt thanks for all the wonderful sentiments and kindnesses shown during this difficult time,” the tribute said. “We would especially like to thank the nursing staff of D4E at Albany Medical Center for their amazing care.”
