GUILDERLAND — “It is with heavy hearts that the family of Mark Jacobson, 50, of Guilderland announce his passing on Thursday, Oct. 30, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones,” his family wrote in a tribute.

Born Nov. 5, 1974 in Albany, he was the son of the late Howard and Lynda (née Finch) Jacobson.

“He spent his entire life in Guilderland and graduated from Guilderland Central High School in 1992,” his family wrote. “He went on to attend Clarkson University where he was a member of Delta Sigma Phi and graduated in 1998.

“He was employed as a civil engineer following graduation, leading to the opening of his own engineering firm, Insite Northeast, in 2015. He spent many years coaching lacrosse for Guilderland at various levels, one of his many true passions.”
