Barbara Louise (née LaForge) Wolfe, age 69 years and 339 days, died peacefully on Monday, Oct. 13, 2025, at Albany Medical Center, while under hospice care, following a short illness.

Born on Nov. 1, 1955, the daughter of the late Robert Emerson LaForge and Catherine (née Krien) LaForge at Albany Hospital (now Albany Medical Center), she grew up in the Capital Region, residing in Delmar, Voorheesville, and Westmere, New York.

“A proud graduate of Clayton A. Bouton Junior-Senior High School in Voorheesville, Class of 1973,” her family wrote in a tribute, “Barbara enjoyed singing in the choir and performing in school musicals.

“On Sept. 6, 1975, she married Charles “Chuck” Franklin Wolfe Jr. at First Lutheran Church in Albany.

“One of Barbara’s greatest joys in life was singing gospel music, just as her parents had. She was blessed to fulfill her dream of having a family and loved her children dearly.

“Barb enjoyed baking and gardening, and she was especially gifted at decorating her home for the holidays. Always dressed smartly, with a warm smile and loving brown eyes, she made everyone feel welcome in her presence.
