No way to start a new dialogue and move forward

To the Editor:

I am responding to Timothy J. Albright’s letter to the editor, “Consider fascism as you vote in local elections” [The Altamont Enterprise, Oct. 9, 2025].

Mr. Albright says you must conclude that he is right unless you are uneducated or exercising ignorance and denial. I am chagrinned to read this, especially when I agree wholeheartedly with the rest of his letter.

Transferring one’s disappointment in the state of politics with the current national administration to our fellow voters and local community who hold different opinions is no way to start a new dialogue and move forward.

This only feeds a cycle of mutual disrespect. And given Mr. Albright’s legitimate concerns, it’s a shame they won’t be heard by the very folks that he wants to listen.
