DUANESBURG — Delwin C. Shaver Jr. of Duanesburg, a truck driver who loved farming, hunting, and fishing, died unexpectedly in a motor-vehicle collision on Sunday, Sept. 14, 2025. He was 58.

“On Sunday morning, Del (Delly, DJ) lost his life tragically and suddenly alongside his fiancée, Sybil Laraway,” his family wrote in a tribute.

“Del was always the life of the party, fun-loving, carefree, devoted father, son, brother, uncle, and friend,” the tribute went on. “Del was an avid hunter and fisherman.

“He also loved farming and was always tinkering around on his work truck. Del drove truck all his life. He took great pride in all of these; he was most relaxed being in the woods hunting in the Hilltowns.”
