Spewing hate in an already broken world

To the Editor:

What is going on with the elections in Berne?

It is my understanding that Town Clerk Kristin DeOliviera, Highway Superintendent Randy Bashwinger, and Stephanie Audino running for tax collector, all won the Republican caucus, which means they won the Republican line.

However, placards were made by the Republican committee to hand out during campaigning. I have just viewed one, and am attaching a picture [posted with this letter online], because the three above candidates have been left off and they are supporting Allen Stempel.

This was a deliberate act on their part to help sway the election by confusing the residents so the above candidates are not elected.

Sounds pretty dirty to me.

Not only that, but why are the Vanes refusing to give Randy his campaign signs?

Do you know where your donations are going when you contribute to this party?

DeOliviera, Bashwinger, and Audino have not received funds to purchase their campaign materials and are paying out of pocket. Nor do they receive any support or help from them.

Also, there is a “meet the candidates” party at Al Thiem’s house on Sept. 19 at 5:30 p.m. but the above candidates, again who won the Republican line, were not included.

Please pay attention to what Joe Martin, Al Thiem, and Leo Vane are doing. They will gain your friendship then lie to you (as they are doing now) so they can get what they want.

Remember, these three men walked out on their oath as board members and they left the town in a very delicate situation.

So sad for our town to deliberately try to hurt your neighbor and spew so much hate in a world that is already so broken.
