GUILDERLAND — An Albany man entered a Dutch Hill Terrace home, police say, attacking the resident when asked to leave.

A neighbor intervened and restrained the man on the ground until police arrived at about 4:37 p.m. on Monday, June 23, according to a release from the Guilderland Police.

 Romario R. Hall, 22, was charged with first- and second-degree burglary and with third-degree criminal possession of stolen property.

Hall, whom the Dutch Hill resident did not know, had driven there in a car that was reported stolen in Albany, the release said.

Hall was arraigned in Guilderland Town Court and remanded to Albany County’s jail.

The release concluded, “The Guilderland Police Department would like to thank the town resident who intervened during this dangerous situation. His quick actions, willingness to assist, de-escalated the situation and directly contributed to the apprehension of the suspect and the safety of the victim.”
