Delmar woman found dead in her car

BETHLEHEM — A 59-year-old Delmar woman was found dead in her car on Tuesday because of a “medical event,” according to a release from the Bethlehem Police.

Police responded at 5:57 a.m. to the parking lot of the Wendy’s in Glenmont, at 261 Route 9W, to check on “a person who appeared to be sleeping.”

The temperature was 15 degrees Fahrenheit at that time with winds gusting at 12 miles per hour.

Because she was unresponsive, police officers removed her from her car and began cardio-pulmonary resuscitation, assisted by Albany County paramedics and the Delmar-Bethlehem EMS.

She was identified as Tina L. Macky and pronounced dead at the scene.

“The death is not suspicious in nature,” the release said, “and was due to a medical event.”
