Photos: Birds And Dutch Tackle Philly For Nationals
This past weekend, June 13 to 16, members from Guilderland and Voorheesville track teams traveled to Philadelphia for the New Balance Nationals being held at Franklin Field on the campus of the University of Pennsylvania.

Pacing herself: Guilderland’s Danika Kosier starts around the turn during a lap in the girls’ middle school two-mile run. Kosier finished in 55th with a time of 12:31.31 and also competed in the middle school 800-meters where she finished in 58th.

Battling hard: Guilderland’s Tara Iyer runs in the pack of other runners as she competes in the middle school two-mile run. Iyer finished in 40th with a time of 12:08.76.

Kickin it: Guilderland’s Kendall Barnhart clears the hurdle during her heat in the championship 400-meter hurdles. Barnhart finished in 22nd with a time of 1:02.76 and also competed in the championship 400-meters where she finished 32nd.

Clean exchange: Guilderland’s Danika Kosier hands the baton to Lily Hubbard for the last leg in the championship 4x800-meter relay. The second relay team finished in 58th with a time of 9:55.02.

Pony tails flying: Guilderland’s Kara Whiteside takes the baton from teammate Alexa Kosier as Whiteside starts the third leg in the championship 4x800-meter relay. The first relay team finished 13th with a time of 9:14.34.

At full speed: Guilderland’s Saida Assabahi yells at teammate Parker Steele to go as she starts to give Steele the baton for the second leg in the championship 4x200-meter relay. The relay team finished 10th in the nation with a time of 1:40.69 and broke the school record.

Going hard: Guilderland’s Zachary Stupar starts to pick up his pace as he drafts off the Brooklyn Speed and power’s Bryson Sylvain in front of him. Stupar finished in 79th with a time of 2:13.37.

Looking ahead: Blackbirds’ Avery Grant stares ahead as she battles Wildcat Elite TC-OH’s Abigail Dunn and Michigan's Alexandra Scappaticci halfway around the final turn in the middle school 800-meters. Grant finished 29th with a time of 2:23.13.

Speedy handoff: Guilderland’s Tatum Cramer sticks her left arm back as her teammate Parker Steele places the baton into it during the second exchange in the championship 4x100-meter relay. The relay team finished 19th with a time of 47.89.

Big leaper: Guilderland’s Tatum Cramer pushes off from her last step as she soars towards the pit in the championship triple jump event. Cramer finished 15th with a distance of 39 feet, 5.75 inches and broke the school record and also competed in the championship long jump where she finished in 41st.

Locked in: Guilderland’s Parker Steele stares past the finish line as she flies over the second to last hurdle in the championship 100-meter hurdles semifinal. Steele finished 34th with a time of 14.67 seconds.

Working together: Guilderland’s Kara Whiteside and Julia Beyer draft off one another as they come off the turn during the first lap of the freshmen 800-meters. Whiteside finished in 59th with a time of 2:30.27 and Beyer finished in 55th with a time of 2:26.61.

Fierce competition: Guilderland’s Braelyn Cornell and Eryn Tynan start to make their move as they run behind Union Catholic TC’s Kayla Devine as they compete in the freshmen 800-meters. Cornell finished in 33rd with a time of 2:21.47 and Tynan in 32nd with a time of 2:21.42.

Coming to the wire: Guilderland’s Addison Vellekoop sprints down the front stretch passing some of the runners in the championship 800-meters. Vellekoop finished in 82nd with a time of 2:15.56.
