Photos: Guilderland Girls Best In State, Two Take Top Spot
On Friday and Saturday, June 7 & 8, the track teams from Guilderland, Berne-Knox-Westerlo and Voorheesville battled against New York State's best in track and field in the New York State Public High School Athletic Association at Cicero-North Syracuse High School. The Guilderland girls’ team won the State and Federation titles.

The hurdles didn’t stand a chance: Guilderland’s Parker Steele breezes over the second to last hurdle in Friday’s preliminaries. Steele advanced to Saturday’s final with a time of 14.46 seconds and finished in second in the state and federations with a time of 14.27 seconds.

Powering through the rain: Bulldogs’ Arlen Wright starts his motion to throw his shot during his second attempt in the shot put portion in the pentathlon. Wright finished in 12th with a distance of 36 feet, 4.25 inches and won the state title and second in federations in the Division 2 pentathlon with 3182 points.

Taking flight: Guilderland’s Tatum Cramer pushes off from the board as she soars through the air towards the pit in the long jump. Cramer finished third in the state on Friday with a distance of 18 feet, 7.25 inches and second in federations on Saturday with a distance of 19 feet, 6.50 inches.

Enthusiastic handoff: Guilderland’s Kendall Barnhart, right, extends the baton towards Saida Assabahi for the last leg in the division one 4x100-meter relay. The relay won the state title in Division 1 on Friday with a time of 48.17 seconds and second on Saturday in federations with a time of 47.85 seconds.

Clean exchange: Guilderland’s Isabella Lagios gives the baton to Saida Assabahi for the second leg in the 4x400-meter relay. The relay team finished 3rd in division 1 in the state on Friday with a time of 3:57.03 and 5th in federations on Saturday with a time of 3:59.43.
