DELMAR — Linda L. Tanner, a generous-hearted woman who put her family and friends ahead of herself, died on Friday, May 17, 2024 at Gateway House of Peace in Ballston Spa. She was 74.

She was born in Rensselaerville on April 27, 1950, a daughter of the late Raymond Tanner Jr. and Marion Waldron Tanner.  She was raised in Rensselaerville and graduated from Scott M. Ellis Elementary School and Greenville High School.

She lived for several years in Westerlo and spent her final years in Delmar. She retired as an administrative assistant for the New York State Office of Cultural Education.

“Linda will be remembered for her kind, gentle, and selfless nature, and generous heart,” her family wrote in a tribute. “She was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, niece, and friend.

“Linda always put her family and friends before herself. She loved living in the country, Elvis, Coca-Cola memorabilia, and animals, especially her granddogs, Faye and Jersey.”

Linda L. Tanner is survived by her daughter, Rebecca, and husband, Marc Machlovitz; grandson, Liam Machlovitz; sister, Nancy Gallo; uncle, Douglas Tanner; and aunt, Carol Tanner.

Her parents, Raymond Tanner Jr. and Marion Waldron Tanner, died before her.

Calling hours will be Tuesday, May 21, from 4 to 6 p.m. at A.J. Cunningham Funeral Home, 4898 State Route 81, Greenville, followed by a funeral service at 6 p.m. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, May 22, at 11 a.m. in the Rensselaerville Cemetery.
