Permit me to serve our community
To the Editor:
I am running to continue my career of working for justice. I am finishing shortly as chairman of the Diocese of Rockville Centre Unsecured Creditors Committee that represents over 500 sexually abused children.
That three year pro-bono position has challenged me daily. Working with victims, courts, and attorneys from both sides, while I serve victims.
I was in a March 2018 Enterprise podcast, the first interview I gave on this subject, and I was a pro-bono lobbyist for 12 years on the Child Victims Act in the New York State Senate and Assembly.
That has empowered me to continue on, in a community service position. The town justice position is not a political one. I am running “against” a good man.
I only ask that you permit me to serve our community, with the same strong, caring sense of duty I have held for the last three years, and all my life here in Rensselaerville.
I have served on the boards of the Rensselaerville Library, Trinity Church, and in Town Hall as deputy supervisor. I have over 20 years of board service in Rensselaerville.
I hope you'll allow me to serve with your vote.
