EAST BERNE — Sharon L. Munroe-Raber, of East Berne, died surrounded by family and friends at St. Peter’s Hospital on Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2023, after sudden illness at her home on Saturday, Sept. 2. She was 60.

Born in Albany, she graduated from Berne-Knox High School in 1981 and Hudson Valley Community College in 1984 with an Associate of Applied Science degree in marketing.

“She worked in various roles in administrative support, including Nortel Networks, but really found her love doing marketing and event coordination at John Boyd Thacher State Park,” her husband wrote in a tribute.

“Sharon had many hobbies from cooking and baking, to enjoying animals, birds, and nature, as well as sewing,” the tribute said. “She had her own bridal shop for several years, ‘On Pins and Needles,’ where she could apply many of her talents.

“Many years were spent at Sunset Bay on Great Sacandaga Reservoir, camping and boating during our son, Chris’s, younger years.”
