ALTAMONT — Jean Southwood, a nursing supervisor, died on Saturday, July 8, 2023. She was 70.
She was born in Auburn, New York, the daughter of the late Roger and Madeline Karker.

She graduated from Guilderland Central High School and furthered her education at Hudson Valley Community College, Plattsburgh State University, and Albany Junior College for Nursing.

She was a nursing supervisor at St. Clare’s Hospital in the intensive-care unit and emergency room for 29 years and at Ellis Hospital for five years.

She is survived by her sons: Ryan Southwood and his wife, Courtney, Adam Southwood and his wife, Maria, and Jason Southwood and his wife, Rebecca.

She is also survived by her sister, Joan Bratt, and her husband, Eric; by her brothers, George Karker, and his wife, Gretta, and Roger Karker and his wife, Carol; by her nephews, Jeremy Bratt and his wife, Jennifer, and Josh Bratt; by her nieces, Victoria and Alexandra Karker; and by her three grandchildren. Remington Southwood, Sophia Southwood, and Madeline Southwood.

At her request, no services will be held.
