Grants available for home repairs

VOORHEESVILLE — The Albany County Rural Housing Alliance Inc has $225,000 remaining in grant funds from the New York State Affordable Housing Corporation for a Home Repair Program.  This program pays up to 60 percent of the total project, and the homeowner is responsible for 40 percent.  The grant is able to assist with health and safety repairs needed in homes outside the city of Albany.

In order to qualify for this program, a household cannot have more than $15,000 available in liquid assets or savings.  For grant guidelines and further information, call the Albany County Rural Housing Alliance Inc. at 765-2425, ext. 2587.
