Schoharie Library Notes for Wednesday, March 15, 2023

The Schoharie Library is open on Monday, Tuesday, and Friday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.; on Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m.; on Thursday from noon to 7 p.m.; and on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Our new hours begin Saturday, April 1: Tuesday, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Wednesday, from noon to 7p.m.; Thursday and Friday, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. We are closed on Sunday and Monday.

— Printmaking Classes with Maeve McCool: Thursdays, March 16, 23, and 30. Learn to carve your design onto a printing block and print it on fabric. Best for ages 9 and up. Signup: https://bit.ly/Printmaking2023;

— Story Time with Yvonne: Fridays at 10 a.m. Stories, songs, fun activities;

— History and Hearsay: Schoharie Crossing on the Erie Canal. Saturday, March 25, at 10:30 a.m. Join us as Schoharie Crossing educator David Brooks presents an image-based “virtual” tour of the Erie Canal historic site grounds woven with interesting bits of history and mystery. Within the set of tales is one outright lie! Can you spot it? All ages are welcome;

— Knitcetera at the Library: Tuesday, March 28, from 10:30 a.m. to noon. Embroider, sew, knit, anything goes;

— Coding Club: Friday, March 31, at 4:15 p.m. Youth in fifth grade and older are invited to attend Coding Club. Explore Hour of Code, learn Scratch, play with our Dash Robot, and much more. — The Art of Ukrainian Pysanky: Saturday, April 1, at 11 a.m. Laura Boggs Gagnon will demonstrate the intricate wax, flame, and dye process of creating Ukrainian Easter eggs (Pysanky), and talk about the history and significance of the designs. All ages are welcome.
