Voorheesville man charged with rape

A 27-year-old Voorheesville man was charged by the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office on Jan. 23 for raping a girl under the age of 15 “by forcible compulsion,” according to a release from the office.

William C. Maguire is facing three felony charges: first-degree rape, second-degree rape, and first-degree criminal sexual act.

The sheriff’s office received a report, which led to an investigation of Maguire, the release said, noting  the alleged crimes took place “at an address in the Town of Providence.”

Maguire was arraigned at the Milton Town Court and remanded to the Saratoga County Jail in lieu of $75,000 cash bail, $150,000 bond, and $750,000 partially secured bond. Scott Schelling investigated the case.
