What do bears do when it gets cold outside? They hibernate.
Join us at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 1, to find out what it means to hibernate. Children ages 2 to 5 with a caregiver are invited to enjoy an interactive, theme-based storytime with an emphasis on early literacy that will include an art activity that can be completed at the library or at home. No registration is needed.
Teen Time:
Game Day
Students in grades 6 and up are invited to come to the library at 3 p.m., Friday, Nov. 4, to celebrate International Games Week. We’ll play Switch videogames on the big screen, geeky tabletop games, and group games. Snacks will be provided. Please register online.
Library Tots
Toddlers ages 0-30 months w/caregiver, are invited to join Miss Lisa at 10 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 3 for a weekly fun program featuring songs, fingerplays, body movement, and books. No registration needed.
Bigfoot Society
Join New York State Bigfoot Society founder Gary Robusto, on Wednesday, Nov. 9, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. for a presentation on our local bigfoot population. Learn about how researchers and enthusiasts conduct experiments to find evidence of the elusive cryptids in various ecosystems of NY state forests. Please register.
Teens Care
Community Service
Community service certificates will be provided for students in grades 8 and up who participate in “Hatsgiving”. Join us at 2 p.m., Friday, Nov. 11, to machine-sew fleece hats for pediatric cancer patients. We’ll be serving cookies and cocoa, to make you even sweeter. Please register online, so we know how many cookies we’ll need.
Game on
Students in grades k-5 are invited to register for this Celebrate International Games Month at 10:30 a.m., Friday, Nov. 11. We’ll have group games, Minute Challenges, Switch games on the big screen, board and card games galore.
“Nervous Rex”

We all have a little anxiety and worry, but what is the son of the meanest, baddest dinosaur to do when it gets the best of him? “Nervous Rex’ is a charming tale that will help children understand mental health, recognize their feelings and give them strategies for when they are feeling overwhelmed. Children ages 2-10 w/caregiver are invited to join local author and teacher, Michael Burns, at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 12, for a book reading, craft, and meditation exercise to help calm the worries that we all feel sometimes.
Magic the Gathering
Players ages 10 and up to adult are invited to register for this Sunday afternoon program, from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., Nov. 13. Magic the Gathering is the world’s most popular strategy card game, with devastating spells, creatures of legend and powerful artifacts. Free decks are available for beginners. Come learn to play!
Early closure
The library will close at 5 p.m., Friday, Nov. 11, in observance of Veterans Day.
